How do I apply for a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO)?

There are a few different ways you can file a DVPO. They can be filed in-person at the County City Building (930 Tacoma Ave) in Room 110. You can file directly online here or you can connect to an advocate at the CJFJC. Connecting to an advocate before filing can be helpful to learn more about how an order fits into your safety plan and talk about other resources and options. We would encourage you to call or come in to talk more before filing.

An advocate can:

  • · Help you learn about different orders to help you find what is best for you
  • · Help you see how a DVPO fits into your safety plan
  • · Provide you with support as you file
  • · Provide you education so you understand the process and know what to expect at Court

* Please connect to an advocate before you file to be able to see how it fits into your safety plan.*
